Screencast: Fedora Core 6 Install in Parallels Desktop

This screencast illustrates installing Fedora Core 6 Linux as a virtual machine in Parallels Desktop for Mac. It is based on the series of screenshots offered for download, along with the resulting virtual machine, in my previous post.

Hey,
Thanks a lot for the screencast of FC6 in Parallels! It was very helpful in troubleshooting a kernel panic of my custom FC6 VM. Turns out that it was the bug you mentioned, and the issue was solved by lowering RAM from 768MB to 512MB. Your page came up at the top of my search results and I was able to solve the issue immediately.
Thanks again,
Jamie

@Jamie: glad it helped. There is a potential solution to the issue in the comments of the original vm page.

Hi:

I downloaded ISO images of FC6 and installed vmware workstation 5.5.3

When I try to install fedora 6 it starts OK, but then when it gets to hard-drive partitioning part, the list of drives to install to is empty.

Do you have any idea how to fix it ?

I successfully installed solaris10.

I tried reinstalling wmware to no avail.

Any ideas ?

I appreciate your time.

Thanks,
DJ

I had the same problem with it now showing the drives at first. I selected a Red Hat type install when creating the virtual machine. Instead, create a Other Linux Kernel 2.6x type virtual machine and it should see the drive.
